Horton vertical vista compound bow 70lb max 34 axle to axle 29.75 draw length. A beautifully kept and immaculately regular serviced compound bow that was bought from new in 2008/9 this bow has had one owner with over 20years of experience in the sport. This bow was the dream child from Horton Manufacturing and Outdoor Products Groups founder Chuck Nease. Chuck Nease brought his +35years (at the time) of considerable experience in bow and archery accessory design to the table serving as Horton's Director Of Archery Research and Development.
Uses the OS Cam system plus module set at 29.75 draw AMO, also includes cam based post adjustments and an adjustable Pro Draw Stop. Modules offer a full inch of adjustment while cam posts provide for another one half-inch and the rest is possible through the adjustable Pro Stop.
The Pro Stop also adjusts the letoff between 65- and 80-percent. Both cams rotate on Delrin AF compression bushings, which are formulated for low friction and long wear.
Horton's OS is unique in that it operates with the benefits of a hybrid cam system but has been designed specifically with identical upper and lower cam geometry. Horton advertises that their OS system is also unaffected by string stretch.
The Vista's riser has a two-inch reflex geometry, which increases the distance that the archer moves the string through the draw cycle (power stroke) and in turn the speed is also boosted. At 34.5 inches between the axles you might expect a heavier mass weight, however, the Vista weighs in at only four pounds. The riser's thin profile, many cutouts and chamfers are a big contributor to keeping the overall weight to a minimum. A two piece Maple wood grip affixed to the thin riser handle creates a narrow grip that is basically smooth and not prone to torque. The grip, other than a small ridge under the shelf, is comfortable and produces a consistent, repeatable hand position. Other features found on the riser include a stainless steel stabilizer attachment and adjustable carbon cable rod. Realtree's HD Camo is applied to the riser through hydro graphics, which explained simply is a water-based printed film transfer process. Draw Length: modular 29.75 AMO. Limbs: 13.5-inch Gordon Composite.String: 58 inches custom string. Cable: 36.5 inches custom string. Letoff: 65- to 80-percent adjustable. Grip: 2-Piece Maple wood laminate.
